Caleb Taylor’s Road to Graduation

Caleb Taylor graduated from Year 12 in 2025 — an achievement that reflects years of commitment, steady effort and an extraordinary journey.

Caleb joined the James Fallon Academy in 2022, the year it opened, when he was in Year 9. From the outset, he was a familiar presence around the Academy space, engaging in activities and camps and building strong relationships with staff and peers. Over time, his attendance improved significantly, including a term where it reached 98 percent.

In May 2023, Caleb was involved in a serious motorbike accident. He was airlifted to Melbourne Hospital with critical injuries, including spinal and skull fractures and significant brain trauma. Over the months that followed, he underwent multiple surgeries and spent a prolonged period in an induced coma as medical teams worked to stabilise his condition.

Later that year, Caleb transferred to Melbourne Children’s Hospital to begin rehabilitation. The months that followed were focused on relearning everyday skills, including walking and speaking. During this time, Clontarf staff and his closest friends remained in contact, visiting him and maintaining connection as his recovery progressed.

In early 2024, Caleb returned home to Albury, supported by his family and local health professionals. He resumed schooling in April, continuing his studies while managing the ongoing demands of recovery. Throughout this period, he remained a valued member of the James Fallon Academy, working closely with teachers and staff as he moved toward completion of Year 12.

Caleb graduated later that year, marking the end of his secondary schooling and the culmination of a journey shaped by persistence, support and his determination to keep moving forward.
