Clontarf Academies Resume for 2025

Clontarf Academies across Australia have reopened for the new school year, welcoming back returning students and introducing new members. Enrolments are strong, and over 12,000 students are expected to be part of the program when the academy member census takes place in March.

This year, Clontarf has expanded its reach with the establishment of five new academies in New South Wales and Western Australia:

  • Muswellbrook Academy (Muswellbrook High School, NSW)
  • Tamworth Academy (Tamworth High School, NSW)
  • Casino Academy (Casino High School, NSW)
  • Kingscliff Academy (Kingscliff High School, NSW)
  • Butler Academy (Butler College, WA)

Term 1 will include several key activities designed to introduce new students to Clontarf’s values and reinforce leadership and teamwork among senior members:

  • Induction Camps – New academy members will be introduced to Clontarf’s expectations, values and the support available to them. These camps provide a crucial opportunity for members to connect with their peers, build relationships and establish a strong sense of belonging from the outset
  • Leadership Camps – Year 12 academy members will take part in specialised program designed to equip them with the skills, mindset and confidence needed for their final year of school and life beyond graduation. These camps focus on leadership development, goal setting, resilience and personal responsibility. Participants will engage in activities that strengthen teamwork, problem-solving and decision-making while gaining insights from mentors, role models and industry leaders. Leadership Camps also provide a valuable opportunity for senior academy members to reflect on their journey, support their younger peers and solidify their aspirations for the future.
  • Inter-Academy Games & Carnivals – These events will bring together students from different academies to compete in sports and team activities, reinforcing positive relationships and teamwork.

Beyond these activities, Clontarf staff will continue their daily work of mentoring, supporting and encouraging students to reach their potential. Regular academy activities, engagement with local communities and interactions with industry partners will provide further opportunities for academy members to build confidence, develop resilience and prepare for employment or further education.

Community members, partners and supporters are encouraged to engage with their local academy through mentoring, volunteering or attending events. Clontarf’s success is built on strong partnerships, and continued community involvement helps provide the best possible opportunities for students.

With a full schedule of activities ahead, Clontarf looks forward to another productive and impactful year in 2025.
