Clontarf and Cadia Team Up for Community

In early May, boys and staff from the Canobolas Academy in Orange, NSW teamed up with Clontarf partner Cadia Valley Operations (Newcrest) to bundle care packages for residents of the Cadia region.

To help combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cadia Valley Operations saw an opportunity to assist their local community with hampers of commonly used food and other household items. The Canobolas boys were very keen to take part when the opportunity arose.

Teiya Thornberry from Cadia Valley Operations coordinated the packaging and provided guidance to the boys throughout the day.

The boys received an extra boost with the Member for Orange Mr Phillip Donato MP  assisting the packaging efforts. He also took the time to speak with the academy members on how they were handling the current situation.

Thanks to the group’s efforts, more than 200 packages were compiled, ready for delivery to the Cadia community.

Well done to all the boys who took part and thank you to Cadia Valley Operations for providing the opportunity for the Canobolas Academy to give back to their local community.
