Singleton Boys Get Hands On with Deadly Coders

Sixteen Singleton Academy boys recently took part in an exciting two day Deadly Coders program, building new skills in coding, technology and problem solving. The experience challenged the boys to think creatively while learning how technology can be used to bring ideas to life.

Over two engaging days, academy members worked alongside the Deadly Coders team to explore the world of technology and coding. The program provided a hands on learning experience that introduced the boys to coding concepts, electrical circuits and digital problem solving.

The young men learnt how to build electrical circuits before progressing to coding activities where they created and refined their own projects. Through coding, recoding and troubleshooting, the boys successfully developed a fully functioning Pong game, putting their new skills into practice.

Throughout the program, the boys demonstrated strong teamwork, persistence and a willingness to challenge themselves. It was fantastic to see students step outside their comfort zones, work through challenges and support one another while learning something completely new.

The experience not only introduced the boys to potential pathways in technology but also helped build confidence and critical thinking skills that can be applied both inside and outside the classroom.

A big thank you to the Deadly Coders team for providing such an engaging and inspiring opportunity for our young men. Programs like this continue to open doors for students while encouraging curiosity, creativity and lifelong learning.
