WA Boys Kick Off Final Year

Senior academy members from across the Perth metropolitan area and Northam descended on the Clontarf central office in Bentley in March for the annual Year 12 Leadership Camp Networking Morning Tea.

50 boys from Belmont (new in 2021), Cecil Andrews (Seville Grove), Clontarf (Waterford), Ellenbrook, Fremantle, Girrawheen, Northam, Sevenoaks (Cannington) and Swan View were joined by the Director General of the Department of Education, Lisa Rodgers and Deputy Director General – Student Achievement, Jim Bell, as well as representatives from several Clontarf partners.

In addition to having the opportunity to network with fellow Clontarf boys and business leaders, the boys were able to hear from several Clontarf alumni on their experiences during and post school. Andrew Yarran (Sevenoaks Academy/Yule Brook Academy), Tyson McEwan (Geraldton Academy) and Rakeam Jones (Gilmore Academy) spoke to the group about the importance of staying focused during Year 12 and how they’ve been able to build successful lives since graduating.

The future: 50 senior Clontarf boys from across the Perth metropolitan area and Northam met with senior members from the Department of Education and Clontarf partners during a Year 12 Leadership Camp morning tea in March.

Following the morning tea, the boys headed off to the South West region town of Busselton for their leadership camp where they continued to develop their leadership skills and foster camaraderie with their peers.

In 2021, more than 800 Year 12 boys are enrolled in Clontarf academies around the country and are participating in similar camps throughout Term 1. Clontarf would like to thank all partners, supporters and community groups for supporting the Foundation and enabling it to provide these essential activities.
