Academies
In 2024, there are 158 Clontarf academies within 168 schools across Western Australia, Northern Territory, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia.
A Familiar Space for Our Students
Staffed by full-time mentors, Clontarf academy rooms are welcoming, inclusive and designed to foster positive learning and personal growth for the young men in our programme.
Integrated into each host school, the academy room acts as a home-base for Clontarf students before and after school, at recess and lunch, and during designated academy time. The rooms are designed to be self-reliant and are equipped with cooking and washing facilities, computers and entertainment equipment.
Moreover, our academy rooms are designed to be, in essence, identical. While each academy is tailored to reflect the needs of the boys in their community, there is clear consistency in every Clontarf academy room. The meals are the same, the layout is the same, the service is the same, the quality is the same – our boys know what they’re in for. Our academy rooms are safe and familiar places for our boys and if their life journey ever sees them relocate (which is not uncommon), they can comfortably walk in to any Clontarf academy room, anywhere in the country and know the staff, the values and of course the room – are all familiar.
