Clontarf helps young men to attend school, finish Year 12 and enter employment.

Using supportive relationships, a welcoming environment and a diverse range of activities, the young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men in our programme develop improved self-esteem and confidence which assists them to participate in education, employment and society in a positive way.

Our approach has proven to be very successful, not only in attracting young men to school and keeping them there, but also in having them embrace more disciplined, purposeful and healthy lifestyles.

The 2026 NSW Senior Carnival brought Clontarf boys from across the state...

They may be separated by more than 4,500 kilometres, live in different time zones and follow different football codes, but the boys from the Broome and Brewarrina Clontarf academies have a lot more in common than you may think. Witness how the Clontarf programme provides strong mentors, rich activity and a safe space to keep these young men in school and on the right path.

" There has been a huge improvement in the attendance, retention, Year 12 completion and in the general behaviour of the boys. Over 50 boys have graduated with their WACE over the history of the academy and many of these young men have transitioned smoothly into meaningful employment. It is very gratifying to encounter many of these men in these positions of employment and making a positive contribution to the greater Bunbury community. "
