Kirwan and Bunnings Show Appreciation

At the end of Term 2, the boys at Kirwan Academy in Townsville, QLD were keen to show their appreciation of their school teachers who had supported them during some very challenging months.

To assist them in this endeavour, the helpful team at Bunnings Domain held a DIY garden project day where the Kirwan boys were shown how to paint mosaic designs onto terracotta pots which would then be given to their teachers as gifts.

Year 12 student Lawrence Rankine said he was grateful of all the support he had received from his teachers and was pleased he was able to show his appreciation.

“It was a great way for us boys to display our gratitude toward the school,” he said.

“All the teachers have been helping us throughout the year and even dedicate their own time to get us over the line to pass and graduate.”

On behalf of the boys and staff members at Kirwan Academy, we would like to thank the team at Bunnings Domain for providing their time and resources to help the academy undertake this activity, as well as the Kirwan State High School staff for continuing the education of our boys during these trying times. We look forward to Term 3!
